  Just before our holiday in Cornwall our puppy was injured when a sharp stone went into her paw. She was sedated and the stone removed. Animal Friends settled the outstanding bill straight away. During our holiday it seemed that all was not well, so we visited a local vet who prescribed medication to fight the infection. Again Animal Friends settled this additional bill very quickly. Just be careful to fully understand what policy is best for you as there are a lot to choose from and they vary a great deal, which is reflected in the monthly premiums .

  Don't use this company. They do not pay out. My dog had an injury which was the result of an accident which damaged a small horn growth on his back. It turned nasty and he needed anti biotics. When i applied for insurance they said that they could not process the claim because the dogs age on the claim form was incorrect. Because of this they wanted £70 off me to process the claim. I paid the money and then they said they could not support the claim because the injury was affecting this horn and it was a pre-condition. A month later the dog became ill and we spent about £2000 on vets fees before he passed away. When i put the claim in they said he had died of liver cancer which was related to this horn growth and therefore it was a pre-condition and could not pay out. I can't believe these positive reviews. I will never use them ever again.

  absolute rubbish-if your policy renews in the middle of a claim they add up your claim before renewal date and then after as two separate claims as its a new policy year-hence it takes you longer to get past your excess!. Sent in claim form from vets when you want to keep adding to it because of ongoing medication costs-have to then get another form filled out for repeat prescriptions- all this and can only claim for next about 8 mths because they then take the condition off your policy ! they know what they are doing!. Would not use again.
